2. Spring Shearing.
This year it was just Andrew, as Simon had already gone under the knife and nobody else was quite ready. We're not sure how long the Tom Selleck 'stache will stick around, but it's sure nice to see Papa's chin again!
3. Ioan's Birthday. He's five, folks! We celebrated twice -- first, by taking him to the Museum of Flight with Simon and his friend Max. Ioan enjoyed many things on this trip, but my own highlight came when I was pointing out the camera on the moon buggy (aka Lunar Roving Vehicle), and I reached in just a little too far over the barrier and set off the little beeping alarm that warns you to back off. Whoops! Ioan wanted to know what that noise was, and I explained, and then he wanted to try to set it off himself. He reached in, and nothing happened. He reached a little farther -- as far as his little arms would go -- still nothing. "Well," he said finally, "it must be that it doesn't go off if it's your birthday." The second celebration was a terrific bowling party, marred somewhat by a fluky accidental fall that sent the birthday boy's grandfather to the hospital with a thrown back. Send healing thoughts, everyone!

we were wondering with leslie on saturday whether or not you balanced eggs. not really wondering, because OF COURSE you did. but talking about whether they balance other times and how you never want to find out.
ha ha ha. tom selleck! i haven't thought of him in years. but andrew should definitely get some really short shorts to complete the look.
