Mount Desert Island is Blueberries for Sal country, and one of our favorite things to do is hike up one of the many "mountains" (this one is 583 feet tall) and then look down from the rounded bald top at the array of islands stretching out all around, and the boats and the birds, and everything. Unfortunately the weather was cool and cloudy, so we couldn't see much from the top of Day Mountain. Still, a nice hike. The kids collected rocks and added them to the cairns along the way up. And we found plenty of blueberries.
