The Pleasure Was Ours!

This refreshingly honest missive recently arrived in the mail from our pal Logan, in reference to a birthday present we had promised him in November: A Harry Potter movie, starring you!

Our follow-through on this type of gift can often be measured in geologic time (just ask Lexi), but in this case we started off with a (relative) bang. Within a week, Logan came over to our house with a broom, a robe, and a handful of wands, ready for action. Within a month we had completed two of the three episodes, and shot plenty of footage for the last one (an ill-fated flying lesson). But then the holidays happened, and one thing led to another -- you know how it is -- and somehow we never found the time to finish that last flick (actually the second in the series).

Well, over the weekend we finally sat down and pushed through the minor technical difficulties we were having with our flight simulation techniques. So without further ado, we'd like to present our long-awaited epic film series, starring Logan as an aspiring wizard, Simon as his know-it-all friend, and Josie and Mikala as various professors and extras.

Lesson One: Apparition
In which our hero, under the tutelage of an underslept professor and with the help of a slightly rumpled green screen, exhibits questionable magical skills.

Lesson Two: Flying
In which our hero's dismay is exacerbated by his classmate's seemingly effortless success.

Lesson Three: Graveyard Dueling
In which our hero overcomes his magical difficulties and defeats his nemesis.

The End

Happy Birthday once more, Logan. We so appreciate the imaginative, passionate spark you brought to these movies -- and to our lives in general!

(Apologies in advance if your dad makes you write a whole nother thank you note as a result of this post.)

Will the "thank you" notes never end? No, Dad, shouldn't I say " your welcome?" There is no such thing as a hand written "welcome card." Logan M
