Speaking of Smooching...

...there wasn't any at Simon and Menna's fifth (sixth? tenth?) wedding yesterday -- more of a tackle-hug at the end of the ceremony. There were many other things, however: a bevy of beautiful bridesmaids with makeup & hair by Aunt Lexi, a brilliant Peter Cook impersonation by Josie ("Mawwiage. Is what bwings us togevah. Today."), and a pair of butterfly-jeweled wedding rings. With his long hair (brushed just for the occasion), white shirt, and tight black silk jacket, the groom managed to pull off a Romantic-Poet-Meets-'70s-British-Rock-Star kind of look.

The table was laid with our finest white lace tablecloth, sparkling cider leftover from New Years, tuna sandwiches with the crusts cut off, and (at the request of the bride) broccoli heads with French dip.

The happy couple happily performed all the requisite traditions, including the cutting of the cake (topped with a frog and a monkey -- don't ask):

And the tossing of the bouquet:

Hooray! Clearly their sixth wedding won't be their last.

Simon looks very much like Andrew in that rock-star picture. Maybe - since his other option looks unlikely - the two of them can form a band. With Ioan, in his glam pants.
